I recently used Any Tree for some tree work and they were responsive, reasonable and did a thorough job. The work included a tree climber who climbed up very high to remove some branches overhanging my porch. They recently sent out a discount coupon in one of those mailer packets.

I highly recommend Paul Brackett. His company raised our canopy a couple of years ago and I was very worried that the trees would end up looking like the underneath of an umbrella. Not so with these guys...................

We tried Paul Brackett and got no response after 4 phone calls about needing an estimate. There was also no estimate given after he showed up to look at the tree in question. Very unprofessional.

Another endorsement here for Paul Brackett Associates. I've used him for the past 5 years, and I agree that while he may seem a bit pricey, he absolutely knows his business and doesn't try to upsell with treatments you don't need. Refreshing to work with!

I have used Paul Brackett several times, and so have my neighbors, and can give him my unqualified recommendation. He might not be the cheapest, but he is the best and he will tell you what you don't need, as well as what you do need.

We had a very bad experience with JT's Tree Service a couple of years ago which I posted here on Framcom. A quick summary is that they showed up and were about to cut down our trees without ever giving us a quote (which we chased him for) or scheduling the work. I showed up just in time to stop them and JT called me and my husband some choice expletives over the Nextel walkie-talkie to his crew supervisor, not knowing I was standing right there. I wouldn't call them if they were the last tree service on earth.

I recommend JT's Tree Service (Jeff Tolan). About 5-6 years ago I had two very large trees removed completely. Their specialized equipment hoisted most of the tree to the front before cutting the limbs.The stumps were ground well below the surface. Also, they did amazing work removing a thicket of wild shrubs, grinding the roots and "tilling" the area with the grinding machine. Result was a loosely packed, root-free soil that was perfect for new plantings. When the work was done, I thought the price was very fair.

I just used JT's tree service this week. Justin is the new owner. He was the first tree service to respond to me, came in with the lowest estimate and even threw in stump grinding at no additional cost. I called him on a Tuesday, he came for an estimate on Wednesday and the tree disappeared on Friday. Justin was totally straight with us, pleasant and professional and my husband and I are both blown away by the work he and his team did. Justin is just a great guy, and I HIGHLY recommend him.

I recommend JT's Tree Service (Jeff Tolan). My mom and I have used him and would not think of using anyone else. He comes on time, brings the right equipment, cleans up when the job is finished, is pleasant and professional.

I second Barbara's comments. Last month my neighbors paid to take down a four-story maple on the property line. It stretched over both their house and my garage. Jeff needed to bring equipment into my yard to do it. He contacted me early in the process, kept me up to date on their plans, and cleaned up every trace. House and garage were unharmed.

Joe Regan is excellent, reliable, reasonably priced, and fully insured. He cut down three huge pine trees for us which were right up against a busy street (Winter St.). I was concerned since they were right against the street but he handled it very well.

I found Joe Regan on the Wiki and I can heartily recommend him. He removed one half of a hemlock tree that fell onto our roof and did it without help or a cherry picker. Watching him work is a pleasure - he considers each move carefully to determine where debris will fall, rigs roping precisely to prevent damage and cleans up carefully. He's reliable and his pricing is more than reasonable.

I also highly recommend Simkins Tree Service. Leo Simkins is a certified arborist, very dependable and professional. Not only are his prices fair but you can be sure that the work will be done carefully and your property will be spotless. In the last two years he has done considerable work on my property. He excels in reshaping and thinning trees and shrubs. I have recommended him to many of my friends. They have been extremely happy with the work and prices.

I am glad to hear you had good results with Stumpy's Tree Service because I didn't.
I signed a contract, was given a date for service which was a few weeks wait and then I got a no show. Then I got excuses, delays, more no shows, that was at least 4 months from signing contract.
I ended up giving up and had Bill Tupper Jr. out of Framingham do the work. Bill is an arborist and his father was the tree warden for the town of Framingham for years. Needless to say, his work was amazing on my 100 year old silver maple and all I got from Stumpy's was a good lesson.

I highly recommend Stumpy's Tree Service.
We used them to take down a large dead white pine this summer and they were responsive, quick with an estimate and timely in their arrival to our house. In fact Martin Jakobsen, the rep was the only tree "person" who made specific suggestions as how to contain costs and not spend alot of money. And even when the work took twice as long as expected, we were not charged a penny more than the estimate.

We have used Stumpy's tree service for years and have been very pleased as have many of our neighbors. Licensed, insured and they have certified arborists. They have all kinds of equipment. They are in Ashland. 508-879-1211 or 508-881-8784. You can say the Kelbers recommended them (we do not get any kickbacks for referrals).

Just recently used Stumpy's to take out a good size Oak as well as trim back a number of other trees. The estimator came out, put everything in writing of what would be done and the price. Stumpy's came out did what they said and at the price they quoted. Very good with cleanup as well. We recommend them and would use them again.

Contact Tree Specialists, out of Holliston. They have a staff of certified arborists, and they will be able to assess the health of the tree and help you think about treatment options and other possibilities. I have used them for consultations on a number of occasions and always been very impressed with the depth of their knowledge and their commitment to preserving trees.

Tree Tech recently was hired to remove four large (about 60' each) pine trees located on the property line between my house and a neighbor's. These trees had some damage from the 2011 storms and it was time for them to go. Tree Tech did a great job at a reasonable price - I had three estimates for this work. They provided a detailed written estimate. The crew came when they said they would, and they left the property clean and tidy, so much so you could hardly tell they were ever here. I am very happy with both their professionalism and with the results of their work.

I wanted to recommend a tree service that I used. Triple E Tree Service Earl Ebbeling We had several estimates and Earl's price was a few hundred dollars cheaper than the others. He did a wonderful job. He is friendly and our yard looked wonderful when he was through. He was the last quote that we got and I was so glad we decided to use his company. He took several trees down, trimmed branches and ground several stumps for us.

We've used Ryan Wood of RJ Wood Enterprises.
He was knowledgeable and really good.
He explained everything to us (every expense and some options and choices), and made some good suggestions.
He showed up on time. He did what he came to do. He cleaned up after himself.
He's very professional.
We had him take out a mature large tree, a large mature bush, and a bunch of roots that were running through the back yard causing shoots to pop up. These roots made it impossible to mow!
Anyway, we'd definitely use his services again and we highly recommend him.
You can certainly mention Jonathan and Lisa Shapiro from Framingham.
