We had dinner at the new Il Forno in Ashland . They are located in the former 99 Restaurant space in the Market Basket Plaza. The food is great, the portions huge, the setting pleasant and the wait staff friendly and efficient. We ate there with my daughter's family so it also qualifies as kid friendly as well as being moderately priced. They do not sell alcoholic beverages but you're welcome to bring your own.
For red sauce lovers like me, the Chicken Parmigian Trio or Calamari with Fra Diavlo sauce are both quite wonderful. My wife loved the Chicken Francese. They offer a large variety of entrees which give you much more of a choice than most of the Italian restaurants that I'm familiar with in the area.
Il Forno used to be in Westboro so they hit the ground running with their Ashland restaurant. Jennifer works the front desk and is always helpful. Michael the owner was cooking tonight and visited our table to make sure we were happy. We were.
They are definitely worth a visit
