My central vac has two motors and one of them blew, literally spraying electrical fire around before flipping its breaker switch. I got a recommendation to call.
He came out literally within minutes, looked at the problem, but did not handle my particular brand of central vac. He allowed me to order the parts and then when they came in, for a modest fee, he installed the new motor and a few other miscellaneous components. He was very pleasant, did the job right, and he's a local person. Who could ask for anything more?
