I think the best place in the area to buy tires is Ron's Tires in Framingham. I've fitted the last three cars (multiple sets) over the last 15 years. I also think they do very accurate tire balancing, which is something you don't always get at other shops.

I have used Direct Tire, liking their convenient location, the availability of a loaner car for longer repairs, their road hazard guarantee (three years, free repair or replacement even if damage to a tire was your fault) and free rotation and balancing at the recommended intervals for the life of the tires. I have even willing to pay a bit more since the extra cost more than makes up for the cost of rotation, replacement etc.
Direct Tire is in Natick, in the same plaza as Michaels and Burlington Coat Factory, off Speen St and across from the Natick Mall.
